Joanne Flanagan has been the proud owner and director of ConfiDance Studio since its inception in 1995. As the director, Joanne strives to offer students excellence in training that teaches technique in a variety of dance forms as well as develop strong individuals that learn confidence, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and respect for others. Several of Joanne’s dancers have pursued professional work in film, television and stage as well as pursued post-secondary education in dance. As a dancer, Joanne began her journey her in Kitchener-Waterloo as a member of a local ballet company.
She then moved her training Toronto bound wherein she accepted a position in the professional program at Les Ballet-Jazz, Toronto. While studying as a dancer full-time she also travelled across Canada as a freelance performer. Some of her credits include; The King and I, Oklahoma, Diefliedermaus and Grease. Joanne has extensive background in ballet, jazz and tap as well as accreditation with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Joanne’s choreography has been recognized for creativity, passion, precision and performance. She has won numerous awards and accolades within the Arts community of Kitchener-Waterloo for her contributions. With over thirteen years of training and over two decades as a studio owner Joanne proudly directs a faculty of skilled, professional teachers at ConfiDance Studio.
