Tara Butler

Tara was born in Pickering Ontario, and trained at the National Ballet School in Toronto. Upon Graduation she danced with the National Ballet of Canada and then Moved to Alberta to join the Alberta Ballet for two years. In 1995 she returned to join Ballet Jorgen as a principal dancer for sixteen years. She had roles created for her including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, The title role in Cinderella and Anastasia, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker to name a few. She also had the pleasure of working with many Canadian choreographers including Crystal Pite, Gioconda Barbuto, Robert Glumbeck, Roberto Campanella, Robert Desrosiers and many others. Tara guested with the Hong Kong Ballet, the Miami Hispanic dance festival, Banff Festival Ballet and has guest taught across Canada and the United States. She moved to the Kitchener Waterloo area three years ago and has been teaching at a variety of studios since.
