Laurie Flanagan

Laurie is a certified teacher that currently teaches dance, drama and English as a Second Language with the Waterloo Catholic School Board.  She currently holds the position of Arts Program Area Head at Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School.  As a dance teacher, Laurie has taught for ConfiDance Studio since it opened in 1995.  She worked exclusively within the Ballet, Contemporary and Lyrical departments preparing students for competition, performance or recital with challenging and artistic choreography.  Previous to teaching Laurie trained with the National Ballet School of Canada and Les Ballet Jazz, Toronto.  She is a certified teacher with the Russian Society of Ballet and has prepared students for Ballet exams in the Vagonava method of Ballet.  As an educator, Laurie prepares her students for post-secondary study in the Arts with audition preparation, research and career planning. She is a member of the Advisory Committee for Conestoga College and works with members of the Arts community to further develop the Arts in the Waterloo Region. Laurie enjoys working with the students at ConfiDance Studio as they are a passionate community of dancers that are willing to explore new elements and possibilities within their movement.
